Different types of Character design

Character design for postcards

To start off I've researched existing postcards containing character design.

These first two examples are very similar to what I am intending to do. (Combine the 'wish you were here...' and the 'my dogs are barking' brief.) They are a comical, illustrative take on English history.

These next few are not similar to my project by way of context however if feel they would be appealing to the same target audience (16-30 year olds). They appear modern and stylized.

I'm finding it difficult to find interesting, modern postcards for inspiration. I have included these next few because they are another example of how layout can influence them to become a set. However I don't like these and think they would work better as wrapping paper then postcards.
